Hi, I'm June — a Seoul local, and the person behind every post on this blog.
I was born and raised in Korea, and I've lived in Seoul my entire life. Right now, I'm based in the eastern part of Seoul — a neighborhood I know inside out, from the Han River parks to the side streets most visitors never find.
Why I started this blog
Every time friends living abroad told me they were planning a trip to Korea, they asked the same things.
What's the weather actually like? What should I pack? Where do locals actually go?
The answers are never simple — Korea's weather varies a lot by region and season, and the "local" experience is genuinely different from what most travel sites describe. So I decided to write it all down properly.
KoreaWithLocal is a blog that answers the questions guidebooks skip over. Not the obvious stuff — the practical, specific information that only comes from actually living here.
What makes this blog different
I've lived through every season in every part of Seoul. I know what April rain actually feels like in Insadong, how cold the Gangneung coast gets in October, and which cherry blossom spots are worth the crowd — and which aren't.
I also have a bit of an obsession with research, so every post is built on a combination of real investigation and firsthand experience. When I write about Korean weather, local spots, or travel logistics, I know what I'm talking about.
This blog is for people who want honest, specific, local knowledge — not generic travel content.

A note on how I write
Every post on this blog is written from personal experience and research. I don't write about places I haven't been, and I don't recycle information from other travel sites. If I'm describing a neighborhood, a transport route, or a seasonal event, it's because I know it firsthand.
I grew up visiting traditional markets with my parents, wandered through Seoul's neighborhoods at every stage of my life, and now I explore them all over again with my own child. That continuity of experience — from childhood through adulthood to parenthood — gives me a perspective on this city that I genuinely don't think you'll find anywhere else in English.
