15 Best Cherry Blossom Spots in Seoul

2025 Seoul Cherry Blossom Travel Guide · Hidden Gems Included

Every year around mid-March, I start counting down the days. Where do I go first when the blossoms open? It's the same question every year — and somehow, I never get tired of asking it.

This feeling goes back a long way for me. In 2020, I was pregnant with my first child when I waddled through Olympic Park and Seongnae Stream, heavy but hopeful. I wanted my baby to feel spring before she was even born. The cherry blossoms felt extra beautiful that year — probably because of all that anticipation. That was 2020, and now it's 2026. I walk the same paths holding the hands of two kids.

If you're traveling to Seoul from the abroad and you Google "Seoul cherry blossom spots," you always get the same short list. And yes, those places are great. But what you rarely get is how a local actually experiences them — the real tips, the honest takes, the hidden gems only regulars know.

So I put this together myself — places I've actually visited, walked through with my kids, and photographed with my own camera. Some are iconic, some are known only to locals. This is your complete guide to 2025 Seoul cherry blossom season.

Namsan Tower Cherry blossom

🌸 1. Namsan Tower (N Seoul Tower)

Line 4 – Myeongdong Stn / Line 3 – Dongguk Univ. Stn

Honest take? The walk up the hill is more beautiful than the tower itself.

You can take the cable car or bus — but if you have the energy, walk up. Cherry blossom trees line both sides of the path the entire way, making the path itself one long photo op. I kept stopping to take pictures and it took me over an hour to reach the top.

My favorite approach: walk up, cable car back down. That way you soak in the uphill blossoms and save your legs for the rest of the day.

💡 Local tip: Walk up, cable car down. The incline is steeper than it looks — wear comfortable shoes. The path itself is the real cherry blossom spot here, not the tower.

Yeouido Yunjungno Cherry blossom

🌸 2. Yeouido Yunjungno

Line 5 – Yeouinaru Stn / Yeouido Stn

Seoul's most iconic cherry blossom spot. Walking down Yunjungno with blossoms forming a tunnel on both sides is genuinely breathtaking — the kind of thing you only believe when you see it in person.

It's the most popular spot in the city, so crowds are unavoidable on weekends. But it's a classic for a reason, and no Seoul cherry blossom trip feels complete without it.

💡 Local tip: After the blossoms, grab a picnic blanket and head to the Han River — or walk to The Hyundai Seoul for shopping. It makes for a perfect full day out.

Gyeongbokgung Cherry blossom

🌸 3. Gyeongbokgung Palace

Line 3 – Gyeongbokgung Stn

I didn't expect a palace and cherry blossoms to pair so perfectly — but they do. Around Geunjeongjeon Hall and Gyeonghoeru Pavilion, weeping cherry trees drape over the traditional rooftiles in a way that feels almost cinematic.

If you want the most quintessentially Korean cherry blossom photo of your trip, this is where you get it. Wearing hanbok (traditional dress) makes it even better.

💡 Local tip: Foreign visitors in hanbok get free entry. Go early morning for the best light and smaller crowds.

Seoul Forest Cherry blossom

🌸 4. Seoul Forest

Seoul Forest Gate 11 (Seongsu-dong side)

Seoul Forest pairs perfectly with a Seongsu-dong café crawl — they're right next to each other. The pedestrian bridge gives you two completely different views: looking down at the blossoms from above, and looking up through them from below. Both are worth your time and your camera roll.

There's also a deer enclosure where you can spot spotted deer up close. Note: in 2025, the central plaza is under construction for an international garden expo, so you'll mainly be enjoying the cherry blossom path this year.

💡 Local tip: Shoot from both the bridge and from below — they look totally different. Visit the forest first, then do Seongsu cafés in the afternoon when lines get long.

Seokchon Lake Cherry blossom

🌸 5. Seokchon Lake

Line 2 – Jamsil Stn

I live near Jamsil, so I go every year — though honestly, the crowds have gotten so big that I find myself going less often these days. But it earns its reputation.

The entire lake is ringed with cherry blossoms, and the reflection on the water is stunning. Daytime is gorgeous, but the nighttime view — blossoms lit up against the dark water — is one of the most beautiful cherry blossom scenes in all of Seoul.

💡 Local tip: Hate crowds? Go very early in the morning or late at night. The night blossom views are especially worth staying up for.

Olympic Park Cherry blossom

🌸 6. Olympic Park

Olympic Park North Gate 2

This is my neighborhood park, and I haven't missed a cherry blossom season here since 2020. It's wide, well-maintained, and just the right kind of easy to walk through with kids — which is exactly how I do it every year now with my two.

Don't miss the famous "Nahollona Tree" (나홀로나무) — a lone tree standing in an open field that's become one of Seoul's most photographed spots. The park also connects directly to Seongnae Stream, making a beautiful half-day walking loop.

💡 Local tip: Enter at North Gate 2 and the cherry blossom path starts immediately. Bring a picnic blanket — the lawns are perfect for settling in.

Kyung Hee University Cherry blossom

🌸 7. Kyung Hee University Campus

26 Kyungheedae-ro, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul

It's a little surprising that a campus like this exists in Seoul. Kyung Hee University is known for its European-style architecture, and during cherry blossom season, that backdrop makes the whole scene feel almost surreal. The area in front of the main Crownhall building is the best spot for photos.

It's open to the public, free to walk through, and noticeably less crowded than the city's famous cherry blossom hotspots — which means you can actually take your time here.

💡 Local tip: The steps in front of Crownhall are the prime photo spot. Weekday mornings are the calmest.

Seongnae Stream Cherry blossom

🌸 8. Seongnae Stream

Near Pungnapdong 462, Songpa-gu, Seoul

This one is personal. In 2020, I walked this path for the first time while pregnant with my first child — and I've come back every single year since. Six years later, I walk it holding two little hands instead of one.

What makes Seongnae special is the combination: cherry blossoms and forsythia bloom together here, giving you soft pink and bright yellow side by side. It used to be a quiet local secret, but Instagram has been changing that. It connects naturally to Olympic Park for a combined route.

💡 Local tip: Do Olympic Park → Seongnae Stream in sequence — they flow naturally into each other. The path is flat and stroller-friendly.

Yongsan Park Cherry blossom

🌸 9. Yongsan Park (Former US Base)

235-5 Seobinggo-ro, Yongsan-gu, Seoul

This is one of the most visually distinct cherry blossom spots in Seoul. The area was formerly a US military base and is now partially open to the public. The combination of red-brick American military architecture and pink cherry blossoms creates something you won't find anywhere else in the city.

I've visited in fall and winter too — this place has a different character every season. But spring, with the blossoms against those old brick buildings, is something else entirely.

💡 Local tip: Lines form in front of the blossoms for photos, so time your visit wisely. Pair it with a walk around the Yongsan area for a full day.

Seoul Children's Grand Park Cherry blossom

🌸 10. Seoul Children's Grand Park

216 Neungdong-ro, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul

A zoo, an amusement park, and a garden all in one — and the cherry blossom area next to the carousel is genuinely charming. The retro, slightly worn-in quality of the old rides has a nostalgic warmth that pairs surprisingly well with the blossoms.

Great for families with kids. Just don't go in expecting a big-budget theme park — the rides and zoo are small and old. Think of it as an atmosphere, not a thrill. On that front, it delivers.

💡 Local tip: The carousel area is the main photo spot. Go for the blossoms and the vibe, not the rides.

Heewoojung-ro Cherry blossom

🌸 11. Mangwon-dong, Heewoojung-ro

Near 19 Heewoojung-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul

This one is for travelers who want to see how locals actually live during cherry blossom season. Heewoojung-ro in Mangwon-dong isn't a grand promenade — it's a quiet neighborhood street lined with blossoms and surrounded by small independent shops.

The real joy here is wandering in and out of the local stores as you walk. It's a great add-on when you're already visiting Hongdae nearby.

💡 Local tip: Hongdae → Mangwon-dong Heewoojung-ro → Mangwon Hangang Park makes for a wonderful Mapo-gu full day.

Seoul Grand Park Cherry blossom

🌸 12. Seoul Grand Park

Line 4 – Daegongwon Stn

Riding a chairlift above a sea of cherry blossoms — there's nowhere else in Seoul you can do this. And 2025 is the last year for the chairlift. It's being replaced by a gondola in 2027, so this spring is your last chance to experience cherry blossoms from a chairlift in Seoul.

That reason alone puts this near the top of my list for 2025. (I'm personally looking forward to the stroller-friendly gondola next year — but the chairlift has its own old-school charm that I'll miss.)

💡 Local tip: Go early — chairlift lines get long. The park is huge, so wear comfortable shoes and come ready to walk.

Yangjae Stream Cherry blossom

🌸 13. Yangjae Stream

Sinbundang Line – Yangjae Citizens' Forest Stn, Exit 1

Conveniently located near Gangnam, Yangjae Stream is one of those spots that's genuinely pleasant without being overwhelming. The cherry blossom path follows the stream for a long stretch — you can actually walk and breathe without bumping into someone every five steps.

On weekdays it's calm enough that office workers come here on lunch breaks. If the famous spots feel too chaotic, this is a great alternative with easy Gangnam access.

💡 Local tip: Weekday mornings are the most peaceful. A great add-on if you have plans elsewhere in Gangnam.

Anyang Stream Cherry blossom

🌸 14. Anyang Stream

Near Seoksudong 706-15, Manan-gu, Anyang, Gyeonggi-do

Technically just outside Seoul, but the cherry blossom path here rivals anything inside the city. The trail is long, unhurried, and peaceful — ideal if you want to slow down and actually enjoy the blossoms instead of rushing through them.

There's a wooden deck section where cherry blossoms mix with other spring flowers, which makes for a uniquely layered and colorful photo that stands out from typical blossom shots.

💡 Local tip: The deck section with mixed spring flowers is the best spot for photos. The path is long, so wear proper walking shoes.

Buk Seoul Dream Forest Cherry blossom

🌸 15. Buk Seoul Dream Forest

173 Wolgye-ro, Gangbuk-gu, Seoul

If your hotel is in the Gangbuk or Nowon area, this is the one. It's a large, beautifully maintained park that's noticeably less crowded than Seoul's famous cherry blossom spots — meaning you can actually spread out a blanket and stay a while.

There's an art museum inside the park, a water play area near the entrance that kids love, and open lawns made for picnics. One of the most family-friendly cherry blossom spots in Seoul.

💡 Local tip: Pack a picnic — this park is made for it. Don't skip the art museum inside while you're there.

🌸 One Last Thing

Cherry blossom season in Seoul is short — usually just two weeks between late March and early April, depending on the weather that year. That brevity is part of what makes it so special.

Don't just save the famous spots for your itinerary. Pick one or two from this list that you haven't heard of before, and go explore. Some of my favorite memories were made in the quieter ones.

Seoul is beautiful in every season — but spring hits differently. Hope you have an incredible trip :) 🌸
